For us Canucks....Eneloop batteries in my area are not easy to find (and Ebay shipping costs do not make for a good ROI.)

I was in Superstore a couple days ago and noticed they now have their own PC branded Eneloop batteries in AA and AAA size. I bought one package (4) ($14.99) of AA and took them home then compared them to Eneloop branded batteries. The batteries are the same in weight, thickness and quality of casing material.

A dual test of the PC and Eneloop brands fully charged in a old camera resulted in almost the same battery life with only 17 pictures separating the two brands. In testing the same batteries twice in an old mini maglite showed the batteries were within approx 1/2 hour of each other...1 brand lasted half hour longer the first time and the other brand the lasted 25 minutes longer in the second test.

Not a scientific test by any means but enough to tentatively show that there is no difference in quality and I will buying a few more packages of AA's next week.

There are known to be some other brands that are relaeling eneloops, duracall does some. You have to check the package, if they are made in Japan then they are, china made ones are not. Aparently there are only a few factories currently making low self discharge batteries, the one in japan making eneloops and the others in china making the rest.

I'm actaully looking for a rebranded eneloop to put in the kids toys. Only reason I don't want to just buy more eneloops is I want them to look different enough so they will not put dads batteries in their toys. But the low prices eneloops are sold at I can't find any cheaper.
