I'm trying to find an online supplier for the vial in the PSP.

I'm acutally looking for one that is double the length, and just a little bit bigger diameter (but not a necessity).

I'm trying to keep some needles for patching sails (they are thicker and longer) and the AMK PSP vial is perfect, just needs to have more length.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,
Kris

Lee Valley Tools sells these. which I think are made by the same company.

They've just added waterproof anodized aluminum mini-cases for about a buck a piece.

Go to a stationary store and look for refills for .05 or .07 mechanical pencils. Buy one, toss the leads (unless you happen to have a pencil that uses them), and stick the needles into the container. My favorites (don't have one handy to tell you the brand) are long and flat, with a sliding cover for the opening in the top. NO WAY that sucker is getting opened accidentally...

"... toss the leads ... and stick the needles into the container..."

BRILLIANT! Never would have thought of that.

But how many paperclips do they hold? grin I guess I'll have to check...

Most milling bits come in tubes that are very similar, just different sizes to fit the bits. So if there is a machine shop anywhere nearby, stop by and ask if they have any they'll give you. Most shops throw them out after they open them because they store the bits in drawers.

I have a home shop, and I've got nice, heavy-duty tubes in all different sizes.

And if those suggestions don't do it for you, check out a local gun shop- T/C makes tubes for muzzle loaders that are similiar to what you are describing if you cut them down. They run about 4-5 bucks for a three pack when you can find them.

Go to a paint ball shop and get the tubes they put the paint balls in. I bought 5 for a dollar not to long ago. Then cut to size. cool

Visit a pharmacy, and see what size pill bottles they offer. Most I've seen will give you a few.
