I realize you probably don't have manual control over shutter speed. I wonder if moving the target into direct sunlight would force the camera to use a faster shutter speed, which might give better freeze frames.
If do this, try to make the entire frame as bright as possible.

I hope you then proceeded to take it apart for the magnets! Some of the strongest magnets you can get without having to pay (since the drive is dead anyway)

Always wondered about that one... some of the strongest magnets are in disk drives, but they tell you to keep magnets away from drives because they can wipe the data off them... <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
