Sounds like the flu (virus). They've finally found a name for it!

Flu has a name for the virus: Influenza. Tends to be more respiratory problems. RNA based, but I forget if it's single or double stranded.

Norwalk is something totally different, often strikes in winter. Single stranded RNA virus. Tends to have more GI symptoms. http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/dvrd/revb/gastro/norovirus.htm

Thanks, but sounds like flu to me. (There was a certain degree of sarcasm and ill-attempted humor in that first post...probably in this one too....no, probably not....sounds like the flu)

Flu doesn't usually produce vomiting, and this does.

If you mean it's not a serious illness, then that's more or less right. It doesn't kill unless you're very old or very young and get too dehydrated. It's no fun, though.

(I live in England and currently have a strange cold. No vomiting, though.)

Had it over Christmas holidays, all laughing aside it put me on my backside for a couple of days, no vomiting but severe nausea and gut ache.
