Since this isn't really political (well, not too much), I'm going to take a chance and post it. Our world, at least this little part of it, has gone nutso...

It sounds like if the "PC Police" had their way with this ordinance, they could interpret it such that the real police that are supposed to enforce this will have to take the shoulder flags off their uniforms... this is pathetic.

I would not attend their parade for one thing. Let them rot in whatever country they think they are in without my participation!

What a shame. And what a surprise it would be if nobody showed up to watch the parade. THAT might get some attention.

Not being able to proudly display an AMERICAN FLAG HERE IN AMERICA?!?! Part of being an American is having the freedom to display OUR flag. Unbeleivable...

We have had a like problem in the U.K. A certain P.C. council instructed that that all licenced street traders, market stall holders etc shall not, upon pain of procescution and the loss of their license, show, display or fly a Union Jack or St Georges Cross. Flying such a flag gives offence, according to the P.C.SOB's to ethnic minorities.
One minor point that they overlooked. Most of the street traders et al are members of ethnic minorities who have given their willing allegance. Who do not take kindly to being told what does, or does not offend them. If it does offend them, they will let you know. Loudly. Thank you very much.
Just to make their point the stall holders plastered their stalls with flags.

On a personal note: I am an English Man. I am proud of that fact and of the ideals and principals of my country, nor am I blind to it's faults. I am a member of The Royal Society of St George. I try to live up to the ideals of the society in my day to day dealing with other people. I consider any attempt to stop me flying the flag's of my country treason and oppression. God have mercy upon them, for I will not.

This situation cries out for some civil disobedience. I'd like to see about 50,000 people along the parade route waving the flag. In the first place they can't arrest everybody. And the ordinance will last only as long as it remains unchallenged in court. I hope somebody does just that.

I seem to recall that the First Amendment allows "Freedom of expression". I would think this law would be unconstitutional from the word go. Someone needs to take this to court as they will most likly win, if they did not it would be a travesty.
