For anyone interested in getting a identical Jacket, shirt, trousers, or all three might want to give this site a visit:
http://www.wested.com/home.html

They are the origional makers of the garrnment. Producing a total of 48 for the triology.

If you are also interested in the bag, revolver, whip, belts and shoes (I mean who isn't???) then visit this page:

indi gear

It starts of with the hat, sroll to the bottom of the page to select other pieces of gear. The only thing that is missing is his zippo.

Personnally love to have his bag and Jacket although I found $250 a bit on the expensive side (to say the least). So i'll visit charity shops in my region to find a similar jacket or visit the factory. Maybe they have a discount store. And although expensive they do seem to be good quality.

One should be carefull with such wardrobes. During my student days I wore faded khakis acquired when the Coast Guard went to a new uniform. I also wore an Akubra hat from David Morgan, maker of the movie whip and carried my field kit in a leather dispatch case. This was before the movie. One of my peers mentioned I looked like somebody out of a 30s movie. We were excavating the old rectory at the Plaza Church in Los Angeles. The next day he appeared resplendent in a pith helmet, white shirt and tie and riding breeches to humiliate me. The only problem was the local CBS affiliate showed up to do a local news piece. They ran up to me and started filming and prefacing questions with " Now Doctor...,Uh, I'm not the field supervisor." So they ran over to my friend in the pith helmet who also pointed out the director of the dig. They were taken a back looking at a bald hippie with tie dyed shirt and bifocal glasses. After that I wore denhim jeans and a baseball cap

That story brings back a good memory. When I was a student in 1980 at the University of Missouri, a group of us from the dorms used to get together to play Hacky Sack (way before it was cool) in front of the student union. We looked like kind of a cross between hippy and grunge with a bit of midwestern country boy thrown in. One day a local news crew was nearby stopping students and interviewing them. Every now and then, they pointed the camera our way. We finally figured out what they were up to when we watched the news that night. They were stopping students wearing "Izod" shirts and interviewing them about the preppy movement that was in full swing on campus at the time. They closed the story with footage of us playing Hacky Sack by saying "some people still choose not to conform". GDI and proud to the end!

Yes I did. I already have one of the Zippo flashlights around here somewhere. After seeing that, I plan on converting mine. Probally wont be anytime soon though. I've never done a flashlight conversion and need to do some research first.

But to be honest when a lady friend asks if you got a torch to find her keys isn't it way cooler to present a flickering flame splitting the dark, holding it typical Indiana Jones fashion, than using a flahlight?

And from a survival aspect you've got fire as well as light.

BTW the one thing that I have not seen so far on any prob-selling-website is the Holy Grail book. Imagine a printed version....

You mean the diary that Senior sends to Junior? If yes I've seen them around. But wouldn't it be better to have your own? Now when everyone has PDAs and electronic gizmos it would be nice to carry a leather bound journal.

Thats the one I meant. Your absolutely right, the book becomes precious once personal experiences and ideas are captured in it.
When I was looking for a book to use as my diary I started for something similar to what Dr Jones Senior used. I failed and now use something of a completely different style.
