The waters from Bon Secour Bay (SE part of Mobile Bay) through Pensacola and Escambia Bays are a mess. So much rain runoff has upped the water levels to just at the bottom edge of recreation docks to being even with the top of the docks. I saw one small boat capsized. Yesterday, USCG Sector Mobile had Security Broadcasts out for many pleasure craft drifted out to sea from the Fort Walton Beach, Fl area. We had to wait an hour + this morning for the incoming tide to slow the outgoing currents at Gulf Shores, Al enough so that we could push through the Gulf Shores Bridge and the Alabama Canal.

One tow ran aground in front of me on the west side of Gulf Beach, Fl and another ran aground in front of me as we were exiting the Pensacola Land Cut. The winds and waves have moved most of the buoys off station in confused groups.

The pristine waters of Wolf Bay, Perdido Bay, Big Lagoon, Pensacola Bay, and Escambia Bay are now a brown muddy colored.

The Escambia River has dropped 4 feet since yesterday and it is still running hotter than a $2 pistol. I intend to float downriver, backing down and flanking most of the way.

Yuck! The white ashtray sand on the beaches of Pensacola are a pristine memory of my days at NTTC Corry Station. Would stick to everything, like sugar. Must be foul looking now.
