Doing a little mid-winter research into slingshots has been fascinating. At short ranges of 10 yards or so and in the hands of a person who practices, the slingshot is amazingly accurate and effective against small game and birds.

The spectrum of slingshot types and materials is also amazing.

In this video, Dave Canterbury modifies a cheap factory slingshot to shoot arrows.

I have some metal arrows, some golf tees and an extra slingshot already. I'm going to try and fabricate an arrow rest for it.

Clever.

But I think I'll stick with my S&W Kit gun in .22LR

I like Dave Canterbury, and love his videos, having said that I'm not a fan of the sling bow concept. Even In Dave's own words in a survival situation small game is what you are looking for. The slingshot in its original form will take rabbits and squirrel size game just fine. Better yet a .22lr or single shot shotgun. So for me the sling bow is just kinda Gimmicky. You'd probably secure more food with a few rat traps or Conibear 110's truth be told..... Just my opinion.
