Weird flick. Matt Damon and Casey Affleck get lost in the desert and bumble around until one of them dies less than a mile away from a highway. Of particular note: the movie is chock full of just the two of them walking along for what seems like hours, no dialogue, no gesticulation, just the two of them walking. If you can force yourself to sit through it, you get a good sense of how much effot it takes to will yourself to keep going when you know you have screwed up and are in serious trouble.

Yeah. It shows how the mind can go into its own survival mode when the conscious mind does not have the sustenance to perceive correctly or act rationally. When the subconscious takes over in such states of mind, repurcussions are not necesssarily taken into consideration. I'm refering especially to the end of the movie where the effeminate guy dies. It is an interesting and sudden primal inquiry into the nature of interpersonal non-verbal communication between two males in a situation where civilization does not exist and every expenditure of energy must be essential. It's strange how people have their interdependencies, and what friendship means to some and not others. Fortunately, in the end, nature prevails.
