There are people out there who would say that people who carry PLB's feel "protected enough" to push the envelope and/or do stupid things KNOWING that the PLB will bring rescue with just the push of a button.

I'm not one of them.

I do wish NOAA would keep a log of PLB-related rescues much like the FAA keeps a log of airline-related incidences. It would be interesting to read the first-hand accounts of what happened, why rescue was called, how fast rescue arrived, ...

Glad to hear that they're working, thanks for the link.

I'd also like it if the information on rescues was made available to see what situations and factors led to the activation of PLBs as well as response time etc.
