I just saw this on TV today....Les Stroud had a commercial for it and I quickly checked it online.....any thoughts? For a quick recap, it seems to be a GPS device that people can use to track you on your "journey" (whatever or wherever that may be) by using google maps. It will also allow you to 'communicate with people". It says it is also capable of sending a call for help.....it says it works via satellite (GPS) so that you can use it 'anywhere'. Last I saw, it was $149. Not bad at all IMHO.

I saw that too....was wondering if it was some new private service since it didn't seem to use the international SAR-Satellite links. Haven't had time to research it yet...rather cheap (although that's not much good if it isn't reliable when you need it!!)

Also amused that I'm not the only one spending Christmas afternoon watching Les Stroud...
