Would this become the replacement of the Israeli-bandage?

I'll probably buy a few. What do you think?

Here's something about it on youtube:

(can take a minute to load)

Ow and Nighthiker: I've asked about the pressure cups. There the same size in both the 4'' and 6''.

Sorry for the bump, but I promised some pics:

In the outer package:

The inner package:

The wound pad opened up (you can see the pressure cup):

The side-flap opened, showing the 3m. of Kerlix and the occlusive layer:

The occlusive layer:

The Kerlix

Put wound pad on top of the wound:

Wrap around the limb, bandage secures to velcro flap:

And wrap:

And wrap again.. This shows the velcro that secures the bandage at the end:

The bandage applied and secured:

An interesting design, but the size of the pressure cup concerns me- it is a combat dressing, which makes me think they are thinking a gunshot (oddly, non-exiting) or stab wound. For a larger laceration, is that going to have an added benefit? Or after reading the website, am I missing something.

Although with one of their "Blast" model in the kit as well, this wouldn't be as much a concern.

I guess any extra pressure you can apply on any part of a wound is good.. confused

The engineer in me thinks about patching just the middle of a crack in a hydraulic or pneumatic line, and how effective that works, that's all. And those, with an assortment of sensors and fibers that retract under electrochemical stimulus, is all the squishy bits of a human are, really. smile
