"TANKA BAR DETAILS

The 70-calorie Tanka Bar delivers a slow, powerful protein punch by mixing two primary ingredients: low-fat, high-energy American buffalo meat and tasty cranberries. This combination is no accident.

HOW THE TANKA BAR CAME TO BE

When we started working on the recipe for Tanka Bar, we were trying to meld authentic Native ingredients and flavors into a bar that would honor our past, yet fit how we live today. We started with the traditional recipe for wasna, the original Native trail mix, and thought to modernize it. We tried alls sort of ideas to improve on wasna, but each time we added something to the mix, we went further away from what we intended. It could not be improved! We came full circle to see that the traditional flavors were perfect. The Tanka Bar is simply great.

HEIRLOOM RECIPE DELIVERS ENDURANCE

We're convinced our Ancestors knew what they were doing. In times when Native Americans sustained themselves with wasna and other traditional foods, heart disease, diabetes, or obesity were virtually unknown. Tanka products honor their wisdom. Named for the Lakota word for "outstanding" or "great," the Tanka Bar offers powerful protein for your life journey in a bar so good, you can Taste the Energy!

Those would be interesting to try. Price does not seem too bad.

Looks interesting plus it might be nice to support a Native American owned business other than just casinos.
Buffalo is quite healthy when compared to beef; especially grain fed beef.

Looks like a pretty darned good snack food. By eliminating the fat component, though, it's value as a survival food is significantly diminished. You want maximum calorie intake for the weight packed I believe.

i would have to see the size and such but it might work
as a replacement for the long gone Wilsons Bacon Bar that
Collin Fletcher would rave on about..if you can carry a
hunk of meat that could be added to a stew--mush--soup
of some sort it would make a good solid meal without taking
up a lot of space..this is something i would hold off on
untill next spring to see what sort of feedback develops..

Good snack, but only 70 calories? Doesn't seem very nutrition dense (granted, I haven't seen it's size) to be a survival food.
