Help!!!!!!!!!!

I'm new to this forum. When I click on a link in a thread, I get a loud BOING! and nothing comes up. I have disabled the popup thingy at the top of the page. The noise is very unsettling as well as loud! <img src="/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

I'm not sure what's causing the problem, but you can turn the volume down and that'll stop the loud noise. :-)

If you mean that you can't click on links like this (ETS home page) then your browser doesn't want to open new windows for links. I don't use windows, so I have no idea why you can't.

One thing you can try (safely) is to install Firefox. (That's http://www.mozilla.org/ since you can't click on links. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> ) Firefox is also a web browser, but with many improvements over IE. I recommend you download and install it, then try visiting the ETS forums (here) in firefox and try clicking on a link. If the problem goes away, it's a problem with IE. If the problem remains, it may be that you have some sort of firewall in place. I've heard of firewalls doing this sort of popup blocking before.

I've been using Internet Explorer since I first found ETS, the only time I ever had a problem was when I started using Norton Internet Security, after a fittle fidgeting with the settings (I don't remember exactly what) everything was (and still is) just fine.

Between work and hom I often access this site with IE and Firefox and both Windows and Redhat. No problems so far with those browser/OS platforms.

Well, guys, thanks for your suggestions. Dumb a** me. I was left clicking on the link. Now I RIGHT click and the link opens fine. I gonna love this computer when I figure out how to use it. Thanks again. <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Ah, someone set you up the left handed mouse. That wasn't very nice of them. Do you want to use as is, or do you want me to pm you instructions on how to put it back into right handed mode?

And if your kids tell you "flip it over, dad", ground them.
