I had a few spare items after building the SAS tin, so I decided to throw together another kit out of leftover parts.

It's missing a few obvious things, like a whistle, cordage, waterproof paper, and that sort of thing. This isn't my ideal altoids tin sized kit, but since I'm done buying parts for a while I'll have to make due with what's laying around.

The whole kit Is not that much smaller, demension wise, than the SAS tin as you can see, but the SAS tin has more items for it's volume by far. The only really unique item this has that the SAS tin does not is the space blanket, and I can probably strap one to the SAS tin with ranger bands or something. This compass pouch kit is pretty basic and I figure I could give it to a friend or something if we're out hunting, hiking, or exploring or something and they don't have one. Not really suitable for multi day outings like the SAS tin, but should keep someone kicking for a night or two.

Now that I think about it, I think one of dougs kits might fit in the compass pouch, and might leave space for cordage to boot. I don't have one at the moment, otherwise I'd try it out...
