Rumors are that the PUR Scout is under recall,has been discontinued etc. These are the facts: it has been determined that varying quality in the carbon element may not eliminate all virus. The unit still eliminates all bacteria and cysts.To insure full safety,you have to utilize the extremely polluted water instructions. Rumors are that the unit has been discontinued.
