Here is a little something to stick in your earthquake survival manual. Depending upon the structure you are within, different strategies may be called for in place of the standard "duck, cover, and hold." DC&H is still the way to go if you are in any kind of a decent building.

A piece on preparations for the next shaker. What stood out to me is the 2008 USGS study which gave the probability of a 6.7 or greater over the next 30 years at 99%.

It is almost 2018 so we are ten years down that road....I'm glad they are fixing buildings.

An updated study. Same basic findings.

Question for other old timers. Didn't Buddy Holly perform the R&R classic, "Whole lot of Shakin' Goin' On..." Somehow that tune came back into my head....
