Any thoughts on this product? Looks interesting.

I would heartily agree with one statement in their literature - "A little light goes a long way when your eyes are adjusted to the dark." in fact, if your eyes indeed are well adjusted to the dark, you will find very little need for a low level light source of this type. You will be able to do just fine by starlight, to say nothing of a full moon.

Can't say I'm too enthusiastic -- looks like a solution in search of a problem. There probably are some specialized applications where this will work just fine.

Very usefull as emergency marker. Helps SAR helicopters find you even if it is dark. But other than that, not so sure about how usefull it is.

They say it is designed for "an enclosed environment", "in a tent, camper, bedroom, etc". It might be a useful backup for cavers, but otherwise it looks more like a camper's tool than a survival one.

I have one, and it does not work well for long as an illumination device, but it is visible for a ways at night. It is fairly bright for the first few hours, but by morning it is pretty dim. It is light and takes up little space though.

so this uses the same material as http://glowinc.com/SearchResult.aspx?CategoryID=11

I bought some of this as a paint, and applied it to several flashlights, and the glass on 2 light fixtures.

It gives enough light to see by for at least an hour with very little charging.

putting it on the rim of the flashlight makes the flashlight easier to find in the dark.

I doubt that very much. An ordinary flashlight is probably more effective

Yes, I agree that flashlight is brighter. But I had in mind that uvpaqlight is not dependable on battteries and therefore has longer runtime plus it charges itself during daytime.

But of course this is just speculation on my part. Never seen one of these uvpaqlites.

To add to the mystery of "how could this be useful to me?", they had a booth at the national NP conference I attended this year.
