I found this on a site I troll.
http://www.gizmag.com/go/8026/
Their site is here:
http://www.lifesaversystems.com/index.html

I think it looks very interesting, though I haven't heard of it before. It sounds almost to good to be true. The only down side I can see is its price, $390 - $460.
There are several videos on their News page. Again I think it looks and sounds very cool, but I'd need to see some field tests before forking that much money.

What do you think?

Yes MichaelJ, it looks like a good product, and also brought up on this thread as well (http://forums.equipped.org/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=105478#Post105478 ). I think it is a great invention that has been extremely slow to come around. He is way to pricey, but the good thing is that in order for the other manufactures to stay in business that they may have to follow suit eventually. The price is way to much for what I'm willing to invest into at this point, if the prices come way down, or another manufacture makes a reduced cost (Katadyn,Pur,MSR,etc..) then I may invest into it. I've been eying both UV LED technology and nano filtration technology for awhile. Nano technology has so many usefully applications, it could make distilling and desalinization obsolete. The process is still very hazardous but is getting better. The particles giving off at the plants manufacturing the technology are going through there filters and respirators and are causing the workers many health problems. Kinda of like sanding fiberglass on your boat with no respirator. The technology is so small that there having to manufacture filters small enough to protect the workers from the by product from making the filters used to protect them. An ironic twist.

Equal if not greater protection, larger volume before cleaning, and nearly a sixth the price is the Sawyer SP135.

Granted, Moontrail (Sawyer SP135 for$79.00) is the cheapest site I've seen that I know to be reliable (a couple of friends ordered the SP135 from them after a person in these forums did a post on it.

Sawyer SP135:7/6/5.5 log, 3000 gallons, Cleanable, $79.00
Lifesaver Bottle: 6/6/4 log, 1585 gallons, Expires, $460.00 (high capacity model)
