Disease Trading Cards

The CDC has a series of trading cards available to download. Each card describes a different infectous disease.

Thats a rather bizarre list from the CDC, Ebola and Hantavirus have a card (being a extremely rare and extreme infectious disease only found in remote parts of Central Africa such as remote parts of central Congo) and yet Cholera and Malaria (two of the most widespread infectious diseases around the world don't get a mention). No cards for Smallpox, Bubonic or Pneumonic Plague either. Disappointed frown

Hantavirus is quite common in the US.

Cholera and malaria are covered ad nauseum in medical school, so much so that by the end of first year a student should recognize them. Plus, the US tends to have cases annually of them. Hantavirus is prevalent in the American Southwest. Ebola is probably there because it's photogenic smile

I really could have used this info about 4 weeks ago!

This is as cool as plush pathogens.

I might have given a small someone ebola for christmas last year. *scratching behind head* Their mom might have been really annoyed with me.
