Unfortunately today I had to use some gauze from my Adventure Medical Daytripper kit. I figured that I would be able to go online and just reorder the gauze that I had used, but I have been unable to find any of the gauze for individual retail sale, all I have found were boxes of 2000 for wholesale customers. So, does anyone know of a place where I can order smaller amounts of Avant Gauze? Thanks for any replies.

Dave:
It is a good thing you had a first aid kit available to use. The gauze pads (3" x 3" IIRC) don't necessarily have to be the Avant brand. There are several ways to replace the gauze pads. First check your local pharmacy stores (Wal-Mart, Shopko etc) as they usually have a decent amount of first aid supplies. You might actually find the Avant gauze in these locations. A couple of other brands to look for are Johnson & Johnson (nu-gauze is similar), Kendall (Versalon is similar)and 3M brands (NexCare) You might have to buy a package of 20 or so, but sometimes a local independant pharmacy will sell individual packages. You might try Campmor or EMS for restocking supplies, or at least an idea of how to get a refill for your kit. Hope this helps you.

Take care,

Thanks for the reply. That is pretty much what I figured. Although I would have liked to replace it with the same brand (I really like the brand), it looks like I might have to settle for another type. Thanks again for the reply.

The simplest and easiest is to go find someone whom works in the medical field, ie. nurse, or ems personel. and just ask them. Trust me...............you could do that and be restocked on the spot for free.
And thinking of it..............i'd say if you walked in to any EMS station. stated your need and brouight your kit with you, i'd bet they'd probably help you out no questions asked. Lastly if you run out of options, just ask one of us, your fellow ETS'rs and we'd be glad to help.

First Aid Brand Wound Dressing Refills.

Unitized Refills (Main Page, links to the above)

I believe this is the site I purchased products from a few years ago. The quantities aren't too bad when you consider most will last for years. I bought the "First Aid" brand supplies, and I'm not entirely sure this is "their" site.
