Gentlemen and Ladies, I am not sure if any of you know, but I work in a purchasing office for the Air Force and supply ALL the bases in Iraq and Afghanistan with vehicle parts, tools, and equipment. My boss is presently deployed to Tikrit, Iraq doing Convoy duty, the most dangerous of the deployments right now. I have got them some Brinkman spotlights, but they are breaking them in the harsh duty they are doing. I need to find some heavy duty spotlights that are 1,000,000 candlepower or greater. That's 1 MILLION. I have searched the net and I do have some sourcing, but I also have to be careful of how much of your tax dollars I spend on these things. No, we don't buy expensive hammers and potty seats anymore!! Since we have credit cards to buy everything with, the responsibility for the best deal rests on us, the card holder. Anyway, does any of you have any knowledge of better lights. Surefire and Streamlight are out. Streamlight's best is only 80,000 candlepower. THanks to all of you for helping me out if you can, and also thanks for so much great reading and info on ETS.

Mark Mullins, TSGT USAF

You might want to ask at Candle Power Forums

If you need to use it in a vehicle where there is a 12 volt outlet (do Humvees have cigarette lighters?), it sounds like you could do it with a handheld spotlight for cars. J C Whitney is a possibility. There are some of those that have battery packs if you need a portable version.

An aircraft landing light would do it as well, but all the military ones will probably be 28 volt.

I'll second the CPF recommendation. If those guys can't help you...

And please, let us know what you find. I have plenty of stuff on the low end... but I'd love to have a great "thrower". If it's good enough for you, it'll suit me fine. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I noticed these on the Cabelas website. Don't know anything about the performance of these lights. I have also seen 10 million candle power lights for sale at Costco stores but did not see them on the Costco website.

http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catalog.S...TION_SPOTLIGHTS

These are from the Bass Pro website. The 10 million cp model listed resembles the one from Costco.

Searching for "spotlight" on amazon.com gives several models and brands that you can use to track down manufacterers to get a better deal. Searching for spotlight on westmarie.com also gives a listing for a 10 million cp model.
