Just got my copy of the American Rifleman the other day. Hurricane prep has prevented me from really getting to read it. I did notice an article on PSK's. When I finally get to read it, I'll post more. Though I just it was interesting that there are more and more articles on survival popping up out there.

There's an annual phenomenon that is the usual culprit for survival articles--deer season.

Lots and lots of untrained ffolke wandering the woods with loaded weapons, lookin' for somethin' to kill...<shiver>

Unless I'm on leased land, I don't hunt anymore. I've been shot at too many times.

Leased? Geeze - How about hunting with the owner, free - Don't need no stinking lease (Sorry Mel for the bad deliberate misquote). Actually, this year will be the first year hunting that land without the owner <img src="/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> He passed on in the spring. His girfriend (in her 80s) still lives in the house, and I have permission to hunt the land until she passes on. Going to miss hunting with him. Dad is planning on getting into the woods with me, but I really doubt he will get out for more than a few hours - at 82 he really isn't up to it. Guess it's getting to the point where the guys of my generation are the "Old men" - heck, some of my hunting buddies sons are hunting with us now (I'm the youngest of my generation, so my oldest is 8)

Pass on the skills, and the knowledge - It's too late before you know it
