So here's a quick run down of the deals I've come across lately. I was reluctant to provide product endorsements, but I thought these were good deals, and I want to share.

I found what I thought was a decent linerlock that I couldn't pass by. My knife collection is not modest by any means, but when I see what I think is a good deal, well, does the cliche "You can never have enough of..." appy here. Anyways, it is a Ka-Bar liner stainless linerlock with intl orange plastic handles and a 4" clip point blade. I picked it up for $7.00, which I thought was a good price for Ka-Bar. It was as good as I expected it to be, and looks to be quality made.

I also picked up a couple of 1 watt Luxeon flashlights. These are 3 c cell aluminum case with a pushbutton on off switch recessed near the head. The beam is fairly well focused, and I must say the light given off is better than my 4 d cell mag lites that I keep in each of my vehicles. The temperature of the light is far superior as well, which is to be expected from LEDs. The color skew is better than with the old Nichia LEDS, more white and more uniform out to the edge of the spot. These lights aren't cheap, but I thought they were competitive with what is currently out there. I paid $45.00 a piece.

Finally, I broke down and got a Brunton Eclipse compass, more for work than play, but I'll use it for both. I have to shoot bearing lines occasionally for orienting directional antennas and such, so it is pretty handy for that. What sold me was the absolute ease of use, the multi function, and the ruggedness of the package. I paid $56.00 for it.

If anyone is interested where to find these items I will gladly pass on the info. You can email me at benprice@verizon.net if you want to keep it off line.

I hope I didn't offend anyone by posting these discoveries here. I was only interested in sharing what I thought were good deals. I like to share and anyone else who might find such treasures is welcome to share the info with me. I figured that seems fair enough.

Benjammin,
thanks for taking your time to write this article. Personally I always enjoy reading gear reviews and people's personal experiences. In my opinion that is one of the best ways to gain an idea of the product. Keep up the good work! <img src="images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />
