I'm looking for the next addition to my truck gear. I'm short in the edged tool department. I saw Doug's recomendation of the Chris Reeve Sebenza Folding Knife but its pirced somewhat out of my budget. I also don't want the cheapest China made one that will break the first time I try t use it. I carry a leatherman wave on my belt so I have a blade there as an EDC so this will be left in my truck. I work in a small single story building to accessing my kit is not a problem.

If you carry a folding knife / tool you might choose a fixed blade for the stash in the truck.

One that I have been pleased with is the Cold Steel SRK. You should be able to find it for $50 if you shop around on the net.

One caveat... its NOT stainless steel. So keep the blade oiled and check it periodically. Or just by a stainless knife.

K-BAR Combat/Utility knife. Full size. Original model. 35-40 bucks. Carried one for 8 yrs in the Marine Corps and still do. I have also collected, studied and constructed knives for 30 yrs and due to overall construction and dependability, I would still have one at double the price. Do some research and talk to some old salts and see what they say about it.
