Info Requested--CARE pkg's for o'seas troops - 06/27/07 05:57 AM

Greetings, DD1 has a high school buddy (USMC) deploying to Iraq. Is there an organization or business that persons can order/pay for, CARE packages to be sent to Gyrene or other service personnel??

Is there a web site that list those items that the troops want/desire (like phone cards, baby wipes, etc)?

I greatly appreciate any directon y'all can provide.

Wildman,

I've had good success with AnySoldier and with the USO Cares Program .

Granted, I don't send packages to specific people. I anonymously donate packages to send to any soldier, sailor, marine or coastie.

Our Boy Scout troop has been collecting items and sending them to troops deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan for the past 2 years. We are working with a group called Cape Cod Cares for the Troops. They are an awesome organization. Check out their web site: http://www.capecod4thetroops.com/

If you would like more details, send me a PM and we can talk about how we started. We actually had a big success this year when one of the Marines we had been sending packages to came back home! He came and spoke at our Scout meeting one night, it was an amazing moment for the guys in our troop.

Thank s to all of y'all - 06/28/07 08:57 PM

Thanks for the feedback. This info will help me to help her to help her buddy!!!!!

She is severely handicapped and this is the fellow took her to the Prom so she "could be somebody normal" for a night. That meant the world to her.

My thanks again!!!

For me the thanks go to you, Wildman. Watching this thread reminded me of a promise I made a while back, with the effect that I made a donation through the USO yesterday.
