My kids' last hike

My kids' last hike - 11/18/06 03:33 AM

Ahhh, the childhood memories, or small kid time as we say here in Hawaii as we reminisce about the fun we had playing outside.

My wife and I formed a small outdoor childrens' group of five year old kids (my older daughter's age). Ther younger siblings also participate. I supplied them all with a bright yellow backpack and filled it with kit. They are the best equipped five year olds I know.

Then we talk to them about safety.

And take them out. They have gone on numerous hikes and to the beach very often. They will be going on their first camp out next weekend.

Aloha,

I'll bet. I spent a month in Hawaii (Oahu) and loved every second. In your first picture it looks like you are east of Diamond Head. Can I ask which beach?

Hang loose.

Actually the beach is way out west. It is one of the coves at Ko Olina.

Hey Blast, aren't you and your family due for another visit to the islands?

We'll wave as we fly overhead. I finished the last bit of adoption USA paperwork this morning at the Houston Immigration office. Thankfully they are open on Saturdays. Now we are waiting for China to say when we can actually go and get DD2. That'll happen soon.

I guess it's been too long since I've been to Hawaii. I have memories of looking out across Wikiki at Diamond Head to the left and Ocean to the right. In your picture it looked like a view from the other side of the mountain.
