Survivalist seach closes part of canoe park - 07/30/15 08:10 PM

long title but thats the story in one line.
a huge SW part the Quetico canoeing wilderness park has be closed in the search for a lone guy with no gear and no shoes who is wandering around the canoe parks up north.
he was seen and talked to people on the American side, the BWCAW,
and is now in Canada.he is known to the rangers and in the town of Ely as sort of a "free spirit".
on the bwca.com forums there is a long-long post from folks wondering what is really going on.is this a search for someone who may be in danger or is he a danger to others and thats why so many lakes are closed to canoe trippers.
here is a link to the Duluth newspaper.

the police and rangers in Canada did a full court press on this guy and found him with the help of a K9 unit.
a real mess with part of the park closed and now he is being hailed as a "survivalist" rather than the wandering hobo that he really was.the canoe tripping site is awash with plus and minus posts on this.
