Not likely. There is no way that a stick and a hard rock have enough friction potential to light the relatively low oil concentration in the orange. Also, since he did not video the entire process showing everything from the tabletop with panning away, it is highly suspect. Good demonstrations do not have cutaways and misdirection.

When you show your audience the stick, have your confederate drop a shot of vodka into the orange, and light it with a Bic lighter: it'll work EVERY time.

Yup. The guy is not a very good snake oil salesman. You just cannot be that obvious. There is nothing worse than a charlatan-wannabe.
