Latterns?

Latterns? - 07/12/04 02:51 PM

I'm looking for a lattern but it has to be electric. Preferably LED to hang from a tree or tent post. It has to be brighter than Krill sticks but no bigger in size than a mug. Any ideas?

Tried that. Couldn't find the constant on switch.

One of the Ocenographic conventions had jars filled with salt water and glowing organisms used as lighting.

Check out this Lantern from Gerber. I haven't tried one yet, but it might work for you.

These might be of some interest:

I just bought the second one at an Eddie Bauer Outlet store with the EB logo for $10.00. An okay light for the money, have not had the chance to use it camping.

I should have pointed out that it is the same as mentioned earlier, but has a choice of white or red.

I have the BonFire also one downfall is the switch. It is on the top and is easily activated in a pack. Pete

The amber

Re: Latterns? - 07/13/04 02:05 AM

Is there a reason you got amber model over the white/red model or latter was just not available at the time of purchase?

Re: Latterns? - 07/13/04 01:52 PM

The amber was the only version available at the time. Pete

Hi
Not wishing to hi-jack the post, but I thought the link below might be a light weight option. The only problem being I have no idea on the quality of the product.

Its an Uzi 3.3 inch, 3 bulb LED with Key chain and swivel Clip

It might do as a backup

I was not able to see the CMG Bonfire first hand when I bought it from REI.

The designer of this light had a brain freeze. The lid is not very secure, just a small force and you can say goodbye to the lid.

I concur, the switch is a major letdown. It's not able to be switch on confidently and you'll have a hard time to switch it on with gloves on.

It wasn't cost effetive to ship it back to REI for me. It's a paperweight now on my desk.

I found it for 18 plus 6 shipping. And everyone I spoke to says it works but but also has nothing else nice to say about it. I think I may skip it.

I wouldn't recommend the CMG Bonfire to my enemy.
