source for pop bottle vials? - 12/12/07 09:53 PM

Anyone have a source for the vials of PET that are blown up
to make pop bottles? My son got a chemistry kit with some
for test tubes and they are very durable and a standard pop bottle
lid fits them. Would make great containers for liquids or for
keeping things dry.

Go to a brewery store. When you buy yeast that's one of the ways they package it...could be able to buy the vials or at least learn where they come from...or if you have to buy the yeast (and a few other things) brew some beer and then you'll have vials...and beer!!!

The PET preforms are kinda hard to find in small quantities. Read the links below for some options.

Blue Desert Keep2Go containers

Keep2Go Camping Travel Container 4-pack Waterproof Durable Food-safe

Keep2Go Travel Tubes

Hope these help.

Try:

sciplus.com
testtubesonline.com
sciencestuff.com

Don't know if any of those will have quite what you are looking for. There is another one, not Fisher Scientific, that I can't think of at the moment. Fisher probably has them, but in bulk only.

EDIT: You mean these guys?

grin 41 cents a peice, or just over 82 bucks for 250 of them, without caps- those are five cents a pop if you need to buy them.
